What is California Proposition 65?

Also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, California Proposition 65 is a law that requires warning to consumers if a product exposes consumers to a wide variety of chemicals known by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects and/or other reproductive harm. Proposition 65 applies only in California.[p]

Why do we place a Proposition 65 warning on our products?

The Prop 65 warning signifies one of two things:[p]

Modern Forms evaluated the product and determined that the product is above the “no significant risk level”[p]

OR[p]

Modern Forms has not evaluated the exposure level of the product, and the warning is provided based on the knowledge about the presence of a listed chemical.[p]

Most Modern Forms products are below the Prop 65 level of concern; however, out of general caution, Modern Forms has chosen to place the Proposition 65 warning on all of our products.
